So you want to learn German?

I have seen so many people who want to learn German language, but keeps on complaining that German language is so hard, a nightmare, illogical and etc. The most of them just try once and if they fail, they stop there and start to justify their fear, laziness, and reasons with blaming German language. All they have is this wanting, you won’t see them making a step forward. I’m not saying this about everyone… I’m just a bit angry…

You want to learn German?
I have some tips for you, I hope they will help…

  1. Stop wanting to learn, start to learn. Don’t give it one try, give as much it’s possible – can’t get over a wall? Then keep on trying, until you will get over or brake through or even make a ladder.
  2. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. You’re a human, you learn as your mind analyses your mistakes and makes conclusions. Stop saying – I’m afraid, I won’t speak in German. People in Germany are very nice and polite, they appreciate when you try to speak in German. No one will hit you for your mistakes, so relax.
  3. Stop translating – it’s not so important to know, what means each word in sentence or in text, the most important thing is to know, what about is this sentence, text. When you need to read something in German, read it first, there will be something you understand and then only grab your dictionary.
  4. Watch German TV – image + words, is one of the best ways to learn. The more you will watch, the sooner you will notice that some words will stuck in your head. Even better is to rewatch in German, what you have seen in you native language, because you’ll know about what story is.
  5. Play games. It maybe sounds funny, but I’m sure we like and remember more when we have fun. In internet I’ve found bunch of German learning games, which are fun and funny. If you’re a gamer you can challenge yourself and play games in German language.
  6. Use it! Using German language is not only speaking in it. It’s also reading, listening and writing. Writing is the most what takes your time, power, tests yours patience. But it’s the best way to learn, because when you try to write – you use what you know, you search words that you need, you fight with mistakes. And through your hard work, you will get more and more into it.

Learning language is a challenge, you can’t learn it in a few days, weeks, months, it takes years to understand and use it without problems. But to master it completely and use it like a second mother language – your lifetime. We learn all the time, as we live, it’s our human nature.
Don’t give up! It’s all that matters, you can stop and take a rest, it’s not an endless race – all that you know depends only on you. Just don’t forget your path and reasons why you’re on it, because all time that you spend to learn a language won’t be in vain.
